Undip Global Classroom Explores Cultural Research Methodologies with Leiden Scholar

Semarang — The Department of Cultural Studies at Universitas Diponegoro successfully organized an international academic session through the Undip Global Classroom (UGC) program. Conducted online, the event carried the theme “Conducting Cultural Research: Methods, Approaches, Sources, and Sharing Experiences.” The session featured Dr. Els Bogaerts from Leiden University as the keynote speaker.

The event was attended by 86 participants, including lecturers, educators, and university students from diverse academic backgrounds. The discussion provided an engaging platform for participants to explore various dimensions of cultural research, ranging from methodological approaches and research sources to interdisciplinary perspectives and practical field experiences.

During her presentation, Dr. Els Bogaerts highlighted the importance of contextual sensitivity in cultural studies research, emphasizing the need for flexible methodologies and critical engagement with diverse sources.
