Dr. Haryono Rinardi, M. Hum., is an Associate Professor of Socio-Economic History at Diponegoro University. He earned his doctorate from Gadjah Mada University, successfully defending his dissertation entitled Kredit untuk Rakyat: Kebijakan Kredit Perbankan untuk Usaha Kecil dan Menengah, 1904–1990 (Credit for the People: Banking Credit Policies for Small and Medium Enterprises, 1904–1990). His specialization lies in the history of public credit banking. His publication, Potret Buram Pedesaan dan Agraria di Indonesia: Tinjauan Sosiologi Kesejarahan (A Bleak Portrait of Rural and Agrarian Indonesia: A Socio-Historical Overview)—co-authored with Prof. Dr. Singgih Tri Sulistiyono, M.Hum. and Prof. Dr. Yety Rochwulaningsih, M.Si.—has become a primary reference in the socio-economic history of rural Java. In 2016–2017, he conducted research on inter-island trade within the context of Indonesian economic integration. Additionally, he has published numerous articles in both national and international journals.
