Master of History Program
PROFILE
The Master of History Program, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University is located in the city of Semarang. Semarang has been the setting for many important historical events in Indonesia. Tugu Muda is one of the valuable monuments that has recorded many youth struggles in the 5-Day Battle incident on October 15-20, 1945. In time line, apart from being a city full of dynamics of struggle to defend independence, Semarang is also an important epicenter in shipping activities and maritime trade since the 19th century. This is supported by its strategic position in the middle of Java and being the main link between other major port cities. Reflecting on this geographical destiny, the The Master of History, Faculty of Humanities, Diponegoro University Study Program is determined to make the study of maritime history and national integration a center of excellence. This specialization is consistently manifested in masterpiece works, both research and reputable international publications by lecturers and students in the MIS FIB UNDIP environment.
Based on the main competencies, the profiles of graduates of the Master of History FIB UNDIP Study Program include lecturers, teachers, researchers, journalists, and expert staff of state institutions. This competency is inseparable from the application of the curriculum in the Master of history Study Program, which consists of compulsory and elective courses and a thesis by following the semester credit system (SKS). This curriculum is organized into a series of learning processes for four semesters with a study load of 40 credits. There are several excellent courses, including Maritime History; Nationalism and National Character; Integration Theory; Maritime Anthropology. With this curriculum, graduates of the Master of History are expected to be able to master both theoretical and practical skills, so that they are able to become qualified historians in their fields.
The profile of permanent lecturers in the Master of History FIB UNDIP Study Program is 12 people. All lecturers have doctoral studies and four of them already have professorship academic positions. Three lecturers have published their articles in Scopus indexed international journals, including the Journal of Marine and Island Cultures, Marine Policy, International Journal of Trade and Global Markets, Journal of the Malaysian Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society, etc. The productivity of research and lecturer seminars is very high, on a local scale (in collaboration with various local governments in Central Java), on a national scale (such as Competitive Grants, National Strategic, and others), as well as on an international scale (in collaboration with Nagoya University and Toyo University in Japan, and Mok Po University in Korea).

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES, RESEARCH, AND PUBLICATION
The Master of History FIB UNDIP Study Program collaborates with various parties to encourage lecturers and students to participate in various academic activities at home and abroad. These activities include seminars, workshops and training, especially those related to research and publications in reputable international journals. Cooperation in the education field is carried out with Gadjah Mada University Yogyakarta, University of Indonesia, Semarang State University, Nagoya University, and Toyo University Japan, and International Islamic University Malaya Malaysia. Cooperation carried out with domestic parties, including: ANRI, Indonesian Navy Headquarters, Information and Geospatial Agency, Indonesian Central Statistics Agency, Ministry of Economic Coordinator, Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia, Pusjarah AD, Provincial Government of Java Central and several district/city governments such as Rembang, Blora, Jepara, Tegal, and Brebes.
The Master of History FIB Study Program also organizes a lecturer exchange, one lecturer from Nagoya University Japan for one semester teaching at Master of History FIB UNDIP and one Master of History FIB UNDIP lecturer teaching at Nagoya University Japan. In addition, there is also a Visiting Professor program which is held every year by bringing in experts from various leading universities, such as Dr. Thomas Lindblad (Leiden University, Netherlands), Prof. Dr. Khairuddin Aljunied (National University of Singapore, Singapore), Prof. Dr. Mohd Roslan bin Mohd Nor (University of Malaya), and Prof. Dr. Kamaludeen Mohd. Nasir (Nanyang Technological University).
In addition to developing human resources for lecturers, Master of History FIB UNDIP Study Program also consistently develops student human resources through involvement in lecturer research activities and scientific activities (discussions, seminars, workshops, fieldtrip with foreign students, becoming enumerators, etc.) on a national and international scale. Those who have worked in various government agencies, private companies, and are self-employed are equipped with both soft skills and hard skills that are very adequate which will have a positive impact on their respective agencies.
LEARNING SUPPORT FACILITIES
The learning process in the Master of History FIB UNDIP Study Program takes place in Building B, Faculty of Humanities UNDIP, Tembalang. This process is supported by the Master of history FIB UNDIP Study Program Library, UNDIP Postgraduate Library, History Department Library, FIB Library, and Technical Implementation Unit. The academic atmosphere in the Master of History FIB UNDIP Study Program is supported by the existence of the Master of History Library, History Department Library, Faculty of Humanities Library, UPT UNDIP Library, History Laboratory and Maritime Laboratory. In addition, almost all areas in the Postgraduate Program and FIB UNDIP building are hotspot areas (Wifi) that can be used for 24 hours by students. The existence of a library with internet facilities is a data bank for students in completing course assignments, research, theses, and lecture routines. Diponegoro University Library on the Tembalang Campus which has a collection of more than 40,000 books.
