Saturday (11/17/2018), the Association of Indonesian History Study Programs (PPSI) held a National Conference (Munas) at the Multipurpose Building (GSG) Faculty of Humanities (FIB), Diponegoro University (UNDIP). At the event which is held regularly once in two years, the History Science Department of FIB UNDIP had the opportunity to be the host.
It was preceded by remarks from the Head of PPSI for the 2016-2018 period, as well as the Head of the History Department, FIB UNDIP, Dr. Dhanang Respati Puguh, M. Hum., so then the National Conference was officially opened by the Vice Chancellor I, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zainuri, DEA.
The conference, which has been planned since March 2018, was attended by the leaders and representatives of the study program/department/department of History/History Education/History of Islamic Civilization (Culture) from various universities throughout Indonesia. Several things were discussed at the Third PPSI National Conference, such as regarding organization system, which included: degrees, autonomy of study programs, harmonization of curriculum; increased solidarity; journal; SOP for exchanging lecturers and students; independent accreditation agency; and AD ART changes.
In addition, the National Conference which was followed by the National Seminar (Semnas) was also a momentum for the change as well as the inauguration of the new members.
“The event was opened by the Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs at Diponegoro University and has resulted in decisions for the progress of the organization. Hopefully it can provide benefits for the development of history study programs in Indonesia. Amen”, explained Dr. Dhanang Respati Puguh at the end of the event.
