Independent Learning Campus Curriculum Preparation Workshop

The rapid development of science and technology has brought changes in various aspects of life, including work and ways of working. Many jobs were lost, while new types of jobs began to emerge. In response to very dynamic changes, the Directorate General of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia launched a learning transformation to equip and prepare higher education graduates to become a superior generation. A generation that is responsive and ready to face the challenges of the times, without being uprooted from the nation’s cultural roots. This transformation is included in the policy framework of the Independent Learning-Independent Campus as stated in the Minister of Education and Culture Regulation No. 3 of 2020.

Responding to Permendikbud No. 3 of 2020, the S1-History Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Diponegoro University held a Workshop on Compilation of the Independent Learning Campus Curriculum on Saturday, May 9, 2020. The workshop was held in an online room via the Ms. Teams by inviting Prof. Dr. Wasino, M. Hum. representing the Indonesian Historian Society of Central Java (MSI Central Java), Dr. M. Taufik, M. Si, from the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia (ANRI), Prof. Dr. Dwi Purwoko from the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI), Drs. Alexander Reyaan, M. M. from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenparenkraf RI), Lt. Col. (Sea) Drs. Heri Sutrisno, M. Si. from the Information Service of the Indonesian Navy and Indonesian National Armed Forces (Dispenal TNI AL), and Bonnie Triyana from Historia Magazine.

Two things that were emphasized at the workshop included: activities that can be carried out outside the campus while undergoing lectures in accordance with the framework of the Independent Learning Curriculum, as well as available employment opportunities for graduates of the History Study Program (Prodi). In addition to inviting several speakers, on that occasion, the study program also invited all alumni who have worked in various fields, ranging from education, government agencies, media, entrepreneurship, to the creative industry.

Presented by the Head of the History Department, Dr. Dhanang Respati Puguh, M. Hum., that the Independent Learning Campus Curriculum Preparation Workshop was held to improve the existing curriculum, namely the 2017 Diponegoro University History Study Program Curriculum. Not to forget, he expressed his gratitude to his colleagues who had organized this activity.
