The 1st Summer Course on Indonesian Education and Culture

For the first time, the Master of History Program presents a Summer Course program for international students from Japan and Myanmar with the theme Introduction to the Educational and Cultural System in Indonesia. This activity is designed as an annual activity carried out as a collaboration program between the Masters Program in History of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences and the Asian Studies Center at Diponegoro University. This collaboration is expected to be able to attract foreign student visits to Diponegoro University through a network of overseas collaborations that have been owned and established by the Center for Asian Studies FIB Undip.

This program aims to expand knowledge about Indonesia by providing opportunities for foreign students to learn Indonesian, the education system, Javanese culture, especially at the family level. This program gives them the opportunity to interact with Javanese families and the environment in which they live.

Date: 16-21 September 2017

Location: Semarang and Sragen, Central Java

Schedule

Day 1: opening ceremony and attending lectures

Day 2: Preparation for departure to Sragen from Semarang, Central Java

Days 3-5: – Visits to public and private schools in Sragen

              – Experiencing interactions with Javanese families

Day 6: Presentation, discussion, evaluation, followed by a farewell party
